Athletic Programs
Since
its inception the Police Athletic League has
provided opportunities for children in the community
to participate in positive, wholesome sports, recreational,
and extracurricular activities. In this way PAL
hopes to divert children from negative
influences and enhance a child’s individual
self-esteem,
discipline, and self-actualization. PAL coaches
help provide good role models, teaching athletes
invaluable lessons in sportsmanship,
perseverance, and respect for others as they
develop into adulthood. Cleveland PAL sponsors
many sport activities including; football,
boxing, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis,
karate, and many others.

PALSITES Program
The Cleveland
PALSITE Program employs off-duty community police officers to provide programming and
positive interactions with children ages 5 – 18
during non-school hours. The program is hosted
currently by several of the City of Cleveland’s
Recreation Centers and outdoor pools. The
Cleveland PALSITE Program provides early
intervention to at risk inner-city youth by
offering them a positive and productive
environment that is available after school, on
Saturdays, and during school vacations. The
PALSITES Program is designed to have children
interact with police officers in a positive
manner, as they participate in organized
athletic events, special interest programming,
and educational activities. CLICK
